Comfort Matters

At the Canterbury Inn we try to make everyone feel as much at home as possible. We believe in supporting our residents during the aging process.


  • We have common living spaces for residents and guests to gather, a large common dining room and several outdoor spaces for our residents to gather or spend an afternoon reading.
  • Each room is set up with cable television, wireless internet, and a phone. We do offer the option to transfer an existing phone line into our building to help our residents stay easily connected to friends and family.  Our rooms are available with a base set of furniture at no additional cost to residents- beds, bureaus, armoires, night tables and chairs are provided to each resident. We are happy to mix and match furniture to allow for a resident to bring items they would like from their homes.
  • Housekeeping services are provided weekly, or more often if needed for resident rooms. Deeper cleanings are offered in the spring and fall seasons to residents who would like them.  
  • Laundry is collected daily for washing and delivered back to rooms folded or hung. Staff are happy to assist residents in the process of putting clothes away, if they would like.
  • Minor repairs of personal items are available through the Facilities Team, when needed. 
  • Transportation is available for local appointments when scheduled through Canterbury Inn.
  • Medical care and medication management are standard offerings from our Care Team and are overseen by our Director of Nursing and primary care medical providers.
  • Canterbury Inn will work with families and residents to support them in the process of obtaining and maintaining eligibility for various long term care insurances, both public and privately administered.

24-Hour Care

We provide supportive care to our residents. Managing medications, scheduling appointments and providing the best treatments possible in a home-like setting. Our staff is on-site and awake 24-hours a day, ready to help our residents when they need us most. Regular rounds through the building allow staff to provide support and each room has a built-in emergency call system that allows residents to notify staff of emergencies. We work with residents to provide the necessary treatments and support they need to remain independent, safe and healthy for as long as possible. Keeping Connected

Many of our residents move to the Canterbury Inn from their homes. Often, living alone can make people feel isolated or anxious. We believe it is important to give every resident the opportunity to remain connected to their friends, family and social groups. Canterbury Inn does not restrict movement in or out of the building unless it is medically necessary. We encourage our residents to participate in regular daily activities through our Resident Life program and, when possible, to continue the community activities they have grown to enjoy. Social interactions are an important part of each individual’s physical and mental health and we aim to support existing connections as well as help residents create new connections within our family.

Our kitchen is fully staffed from 6:00am to 6:00pm with after-hours support from other Canterbury team members allowing access to dietary services 24-hours a day.
